Security on Campus
Many students choose Auburn for its small-town environment. The campus supports multiple security measures, including an extensive closed-circuit surveillance system, the nightly Public Safety security shuttle, blue light emergency phones, and contracted security personnel.
AU Alert
In the event of an emergency situation, AU ALERT (Auburn University’s official emergency alert system) provides information on appropriate actions to students, faculty, and staff via voice, e-mail, text messages, social media, and other methods. Students can choose how they receive notification.
Campus Community Emergency Response Teams
Campus CERTs (or CCERTs) are established in more than 50 buildings on Auburn University’s campus. More than 350 Campus CERT members
have been trained in disaster preparedness, fire safety and fire extinguisher use, disaster medical operations, and light search and rescue.
Auburn University Department of Campus Safety & Security
AU’s Department of Campus Safety and Security ensures that the university is prepared to respond to all emergencies and issues that arise on campus. The security team, together with the night security shuttle and security monitors, help ensure safety around the residence halls and across campus during evening hours.

Auburn University has a variety of resources to meet students’ healthcare needs, all located right on campus.

Nutrition Services
The nutrition services team helps students find balance in their lives. They offer check-ups, nutrition advice on healthy eating, diet modifications, and other services to help students feel their healthiest.
Health Promotion and Wellness
The physical and mental wellness of the university community is important at Auburn University. Through evidence-based and theory-driven health promotion and prevention services, the Health Promotion and Wellness staff serves as wellness advocates for the Auburn community.
Student Counseling Services
Auburn University’s Student Counseling & Psychological Services provides clinical mental health services to enhance the psychological well-being of students. They are committed to supporting the academic wellness development of Auburn University students, to help them lead a balanced life on and off campus.
Auburn University Medical Clinic
One of the best college health centers in the country, the Auburn University Medical Clinic (AUMC) provides efficient and convenient healthcare to its patients. East Alabama Medical Center is located only 15 minutes away from campus and partners with AUMC to provide professional medical services.
