Traveling Around Campus
Security on Campus
Many students choose Auburn for its small-town environment. The campus supports multiple security measures, including an extensive closed-circuit surveillance system, the nightly Public Safety security shuttle, blue light emergency phones, and contracted security personnel.
In the event of an emergency situation, AU ALERT (Auburn University’s official emergency alert system) provides information on appropriate actions to students, faculty, and staff via voice, e-mail, text messages, social media, and other methods. Students can choose how they receive notification.
Campus Community Emergency Response Teams
Campus CERTs (or CCERTs) are established in more than 50 buildings on Auburn University’s campus. More than 350 Campus CERT members
have been trained in disaster preparedness, fire safety and fire extinguisher use, disaster medical operations, and light search and rescue.
Auburn University Department of Campus Safety & Security
AU’s Department of Campus Safety and Security ensures that the university is prepared to respond to all emergencies and issues that arise on campus. The security team, together with the night security shuttle and security monitors, help ensure safety around the residence halls and across campus during evening hours.
